Booking - Reservation Dashboard

Written by Andy Hornbeak

The Booking Dashboard is the module's home screen for whatever your property reserves outside slips and campsites — moorings, function rooms, equipment hire, activities. It shows what is due to start and what is due to finish on a chosen day, side by side, and lets you check guests in and out from the list.

This is an operational worksheet, not a charts-and-figures dashboard. For utilization and rate analysis, use the Booking Occupancy report or an Analytics dashboard instead.

Why This Screen Matters

Booking-module reservations are easy to lose track of, because they do not appear on the marina or campground dashboards at all. If your property hires out a function room or runs activities, this is the only screen that shows you today's commitments in one place. Use it to:

  • See what is booked for the day, so nothing is double-committed or left unprepared

  • Spot outstanding balances and unsigned agreements before the booking starts

  • Check customers in and out from the row's action menu

  • Look ahead to a future day to plan staffing and setup

Opening the Dashboard

Select Booking in the left navigation pane. The Dashboard loads automatically as the module's first screen.

Note: The Booking module's name is configurable per property, so your sidebar may show a different caption than "Booking". The screen is the same.

The Two Panels

The screen is split into two lists for the selected day — reservations arriving (starting) and reservations departing (finishing). Each row carries the same columns:

Column

What It Shows

Booking

The booking number. Click it to open the reservation, if your role allows advanced reservations.

Customer

Who the booking is for, and the person who made it where that differs

Product

What was booked — the room, mooring, item, or activity being charged

Unit

The specific bookable item assigned to the reservation

Status

Where the reservation stands, including any custom status your property has configured

Three narrow indicator columns follow Status, with no heading — balance owing, special request, and contract status. These are the fastest way to see which bookings need attention before they start.

Note: Unlike the Marina and Campground dashboards, the Customer column here shows no vessel or vehicle details and no dimensions. Booking reservations have no boat or rig attached, so there is nothing to display — this is expected, not missing data.

Choosing the Day and Narrowing the View

  1. Date — opens a calendar. Pick any day, past or future. The field reads "Today" until you move off the current date.

  2. Prev and Next — step back or forward one day at a time.

  3. Booking Type — narrows both lists to a single booking type. Only booking types belonging to the Booking module appear here.

Checking Customers In and Out

Hover a row and open the ⋯ Other Actions menu at the right-hand end. It offers Check In or Check Out depending on where the reservation stands, any custom statuses your property has configured, and Edit to open the reservation.

Checking in, checking out, and editing are each controlled by separate role permissions. If an action is missing from the menu, your role does not include it — your administrator can enable it. Being able to see the dashboard does not by itself allow you to check anyone in.

If a Reservation Is Not Listed

  • Cancelled bookings never appear. The lists include only reservations that are Reserved Online, Reserved, Confirmed, Checked In, or Checked Out.

  • The date must match exactly. The arriving list keys off the start date and the departing list off the end date — a multi-day booking that spans the selected day without starting or ending on it appears on neither.

  • A Booking Type filter may be applied. Clear it to see the whole day.

Bookings you have already processed remain on the list rather than disappearing, since Checked In and Checked Out are both included. That lets you see the full day's work and what is still outstanding.
