Campground - Module Overview

Overview of the Campground module in Sharper — navigation, reservation types, key concepts, and setup sequence.

Updated this week

The Campground module in Sharper manages the full lifecycle of RV park and campground operations — from setting up spaces and pricing to creating reservations, recording utility meter readings, and billing guests.

What the Campground Module Covers

  • Spaces — Individual RV sites and campsites with dimension constraints (length, beam, height, square footage) that control which vehicles can be booked into each space

  • Vehicles — A registry of customer-owned RVs with dimensions, insurance information, and make/model details

  • Reservations — Three booking types: Transient (nightly/daily/hourly short stays), Long-Term (monthly extended stays), and Seasonal (season-based annual periods)

  • Meter Readings — Recording electricity usage per space and generating utility invoices

  • Products — The rental products guests are booked into, organized by booking period with pricing rules

  • Reports — Occupancy, reservation, rent roll, space assignment, meter read, contracts, and product reports

Reservation Types

Booking Period

Description

Transient

Short-term guests (nightly, daily, or hourly). Typically a fixed-rate, upfront invoice.

Long-Term

Extended monthly stays. Invoiced monthly, with pro-rating options for mid-month arrivals.

Seasonal

Full-season bookings tied to a defined Season (e.g., Summer 2025). Invoiced upfront or annually.

Key Concepts

Space Constraints

Each space defines minimum, warning, and maximum values for vehicle length (LOA), beam, height, and square footage. When a guest's vehicle exceeds the warning threshold, staff see a caution message but can still proceed. If the vehicle exceeds the maximum threshold, the space cannot be selected unless the No Rules override is used.

Booking Types

Booking Types link products, spaces, and rate plans together. Every space and product must belong to a booking type. Booking types also control online portal settings and which dimension search filters appear when guests search availability.

Rate Plans

Rate plans define pricing rules for products. Campground rate plans can include dimension-based rows (pricing varies by vehicle length, beam, or height), date-specific rates, and seasonal pricing.

Seasons

Seasons define named date periods (e.g., "Summer 2025: May 1 – October 31") used for seasonal reservations and rate plan entries. Seasons are configured in System Settings → Seasons before creating seasonal products or reservations.

Space Groups

Space Groups organize spaces into named collections for filtering, batch meter reading, and reporting. Each space must belong to a space group.
