How to Update Template Images and Logos

When customizing your document or email templates in Sharper MMS, there are two primary ways to manage images: using the built-in Location Logo or inserting Custom Images via a hosted link.

1. The Easy Way: Updating Your Main Logo

Most default Sharper templates use a built-in variable {{Outlet_Logo}} to automatically display your company's logo. You do not need to edit the HTML or use image URLs to update your main logo. The main logo is stored in Sharper.

How to update the {{Outlet_Logo}}:

  1. Navigate to Company Settings in the left sidebar.

  2. Select Locations (Outlets).

  3. Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to your location.

  4. Scroll down to the Logo field and upload your image file directly from your computer.

  5. Click Save.

Any template using the {{Outlet_Logo}} variable will now instantly automatically update to display your new logo!

2. Inserting Custom Images (Signatures, Banners, etc.)

NOTE: Sharper does not host updated images used in templates. If existing images have a SharperURL these were included as part of the original setup.

IMPORTANT: For custom images typically you will need access to your website (usually WordPress) to get the image URL link of an uploaded image.

Often this image source link looks something like this: *https://[yourWebsite.com]/wp-content/uploads/[imagefilename]

To update or add a new image to a template:

  1. To update template images navigate to System Settings -> Templates -> Insert Image (or edit an existing image URL)

  2. Open the Template - select the existing image to edit OR Insert a new image.

System Settings Template Insert Menu Toolbar Dropdown
  3. Enter source URL, desired Alt Desc, and Dimensions.

  4. Save

πŸ’‘ Quick Tip: Updating Hosted Images in Bulk

If you have a custom image already linked (like a holiday banner or seasonal image) across multiple templates, you don't need to edit every single template to update it!

Instead of changing the URL in each Sharper template, simply replace the image file on your web server* using the exact same filename. Example: Overwrite "holiday-banner.jpg" on your WordPress site with the new year's version. Everywhere that URL is linked in Sharper will automatically update.

*WARNING - swapping images in WordPress may affect your website if the same image is currently in use - please contact your site admin before doing this.
