A dashboard is a named canvas that holds a collection of widgets. You can create as many dashboards as you need. For example, you might have a "Daily Operations" dashboard for the front desk and a "Monthly Revenue" dashboard for management.
Note: If you can view dashboards but cannot create or edit them, your user role does not include dashboard management access. An administrator can enable this by going to System Settings > Roles, editing your role, enabling the Analytics toggle in the Accessibility section, and turning on the dashboard management permissions in the Analytics tab.
Creating a Dashboard
In the left navigation pane, select Analytics > Dashboards.
Select Add New in the top right corner.
Fill in the dashboard fields:
Field | Description |
Name | A descriptive name for the dashboard (e.g., "Front Desk Daily View") |
Columns | The number of columns in the grid layout. A higher number gives more granular control over widget sizing. Common values are 4, 6, or 12. |
Theme | The color theme applied to the dashboard background and widgets |
Date Range | The default date range loaded when the dashboard opens (e.g., Today, This Week, This Month). This can be changed at any time using the filter bar. |
All Outlets | When enabled, widgets on this dashboard aggregate data across all outlets. Leave off for single-outlet data. |
Select Save.
Viewing a Dashboard
Select Analytics > Dashboards.
Select the dashboard name, or select View on the right side of the list.
The dashboard opens with all its widgets populated. Use the filter bar at the top to adjust the date range on the fly.
Editing a Dashboard
Select Analytics > Dashboards.
Find the dashboard and select Edit on the right.
Update any fields and select Save.
Note: Changing the Columns setting on an existing dashboard may shift the positions of existing widgets. You may need to rearrange them after saving.
Deleting a Dashboard
Select Analytics > Dashboards.
Find the dashboard and select Delete on the right.
Confirm the deletion.
Important: Deleting a dashboard removes all its widgets permanently. This action cannot be undone.
Arranging Widgets on a Dashboard
While viewing a dashboard you can:
Drag any widget to a new position on the grid
Resize any widget by dragging its bottom-right corner
Add a new widget using the Add Widget button
Edit an existing widget using the pencil icon on the widget
Delete a widget using the X icon on the widget
Layout changes (position and size) are saved automatically.
Dashboard Filter Bar
At the top of every dashboard there is a filter bar with two controls:
Date Range β Select a preset range (Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, This Year) or choose Custom to enter specific From and To dates
All Outlets β Appears on dashboards with the All Outlets setting enabled. Toggle to switch between single-outlet and multi-outlet data.
All widgets on the dashboard update simultaneously when you change these filters.
Note: The filter bar selection is remembered during your session. When you navigate away and return to the dashboard, the last filters you used will be restored.
Setting a Dashboard as the Default View
Dashboards are assigned to specific areas of Sharper in Analytics > Settings. See Analytics β Settings for how to set a dashboard as the default for the front desk, POS, or accounting views.
