Marina - Updating Rates - Transients

How to update transient product rates in the Marina module using Bulk Edit Period or Custom Price Periods.

Updated today

This article covers updating transient product rates in the Marina module. Transient rates use calendar-based pricing and are updated through the product's Advanced Pricing and Constraints settings. The same steps apply in the Booking and Campground modules for transient products — substitute the appropriate module name when navigating.

Creating the Calendar

New rates may require a new calendar to be set up in Sharper.

  1. Click the System Settings module on the navigation pane.

  2. Select the Calendars tile.

  3. Select Add New to create a new calendar if one hasn't been made yet.

  4. Name your calendar and give it a Year.

  5. Select the New button to add a time period.

    1. Begin with the most broad time frame — typically the Off-Season. Set January 1st as the Start Date and December 31st as the End Date. Select All Period Days and give it a color. Click Okay.

    2. Select New again and add the next broadest time period (e.g., In-Season dates). Enable the Overwrite Existing Periods toggle. Click Okay.

    3. Repeat for any additional periods (weekends, holidays, etc.). You can get as granular as a specific day.

  6. Click Save when complete.

Use a descriptive name (e.g., "2025 Marina Transients") — the calendar will be selected when configuring rates in the product.

Updating the Rates — Bulk Edit Period

Use Bulk Edit Period to set prices for each calendar period at once. This is the most efficient method for initial rate setup or annual rate changes.

  1. Click the Marina module on the navigation pane.

  2. Select Products using the ribbon at the top.

  3. Select the product you need to update.

  4. While inside the product, select Advanced Pricing and Constraints from the menu on the left.

  5. Near the top right, select Add Year to Calendar, then select the calendar you created.

  6. Underneath the gray Add Rate Plan button, the rate plans tied to this product will appear.

  7. Click the three dots to the right of the rate plan and select Bulk Edit Periods.

  8. Select the year. The calendar will be broken into the periods assigned during calendar creation.

  9. Enter the Price and set the Rate Status for each period. Repeat down the form.

When Rate Status is toggled on, the product can be booked at that rate during that period. When toggled off, public bookings are blocked for that period (staff can still book using No Rules).

  1. Click Okay.

  2. Scroll through the calendar to spot-check dates and prices.

  3. When everything looks correct, click Save.

Test the new rates by starting a fake booking for the affected dates to confirm the expected price is returned.

Updating the Rates — Custom Price Periods

Use Custom Price Periods to override a specific date range without re-entering all prices via Bulk Edit Period.

  1. Click the Marina module on the navigation pane.

  2. Select Products using the ribbon at the top.

  3. Select the product you need to update.

  4. While inside the product, select Advanced Pricing and Constraints from the menu on the left.

  5. Under the rate plan, locate the Price section and click the toggle to its right.

A price override form will appear:

Field

Description

From Date

Start of the date range to override.

To Date

End of the date range to override.

Price

The override price. This matches the rate plan's price unit (per day, per hour, etc.).

Days of the Week

Narrow the override to specific days within the date range, or select all days.

  1. Click Ok.

  2. Spot-check the overridden dates in the calendar. Click Save when correct.

Example: To override weekend pricing in August only — set From Date to August 1st, To Date to August 31st, enter the weekend Price, and check only the weekend day checkboxes.
