The Sharper online booking portal allows guests to search availability, select a product, and complete a reservation without staff involvement.

Booking-Specific Configuration

Single Date Search

The Booking module supports a Single Date Search mode on the Booking Type. When enabled, guests search on a single date rather than a date range. Use this for same-day rentals or products billed per day where the end date is determined by the duration setting.

Configure this under Booking Type → General → Single Date Search toggle.

Guest Count Search

If your Booking products have guest-count constraints, enable the People search field on the Booking Type so guests can enter their party size before searching. Available spaces are filtered to those that accommodate the group.

Product Requirements for Online Booking

  • Booking Type must have Show Online toggled On

  • Product must have a Deposit Policy assigned

  • Product's Hide in Search Results must be Off

  • Product must be Active

Terms and Conditions Acceptance

If your property requires guests to accept Terms and Conditions before completing a booking, enable this in Company Settings → Reservation Settings. Sharper records the date/time, IP address, and browser of each acceptance.


Deposit and Cancellation Policies

Policies are configured under Booking → Settings → Policies. The following notes apply specifically to online booking:

  • A Deposit Policy is required for any product to appear in the online booking portal. Products without a deposit policy will not be shown to guests.

  • For online bookings, use Credit Card as the Booking Guarantee — it is the only type that supports online payment collection.

  • The Booking Period field on the policy restricts which products can use it — a Nightly policy can only be assigned to Nightly products, and so on.

  • The Cancel Online toggle controls whether guests can cancel their own reservation through the portal. When Off, guests must contact staff to cancel.

  • The deposit amount can be overridden per reservation at booking time without changing the product's default policy.

Warning: Cancelling a reservation in Sharper does not automatically issue a refund. Process any applicable refund manually from the reservation's Payments section.
