This article covers Booking Type setup in the Booking module. Booking types define how products, units, and rate plans are linked for short-term reservations. The Marina and Campground modules have separate booking type configurations with additional booking methods and period types not available here.
In Sharper, Booking Types represent a category that links products, units, and rate plans together when identical Booking Types are applied in the respective product, unit, and rate plans' setup. When updating Booking Types you are essentially effecting all products that are tied to that Booking Type.
Booking Type Setup
Whether you aim to establish a new booking type or modify existing ones, this guide provides comprehensive coverage. Booking types play a crucial role across all reservation-based modules in Sharper, with minor variations among the Marina, Campground, and Booking modules.
After the go-live period with Sharper there will be at least one booking type available to make changes as the need arises. This section will include what each field is capable of doing and when you may want to use them.
Finding the Booking Types
Using the navigation pane on the left select Booking.
Click More on the top menu ribbon and select Settings. This will show a list of current booking types in the Booking module.
Select the Booking Type you wish to view or edit.

Search Fields
Field | Function |
Offset Days | When a customer begins searching for a reservation, the calendar will default to the current day. The number entered in this field will offset that default day to that number of days in the future. For example: The number entered is '2' and a customer is booking on July 4th, their calendar will default to July 6th. |
Offset Duration | Much like Offset Days this sets a default duration of days, or nights, when the customer is making a reservation online. For example: The number entered is '2' and a customer is booking on July 4th, their calendar will default to July 4th - July 6th. |
People | Determines if this field must be entered by a customer prior to booking. Use this if there are constraints that must be met. |
