System Settings - Sage Intacct Integration

How the Sharper MMS Sage Intacct integration works, how to monitor the sync, and best practices for keeping Sharper and Sage in sync.

Sharper MMS supports integration with Sage Intacct for properties that use Sage as their external accounting platform. The integration exports journal entries from Sharper to Sage Intacct so your general ledger reflects all transactions recorded in Sharper.

Note: If you use QuickBooks instead of Sage Intacct, see Accounting - QuickBooks Integration.

How the Integration Works

  • Sharper generates journal entries for accounting events (invoices, payments, credits, deferred income recognition, and more).

  • These journal entries are queued for export to Sage Intacct.

  • Each export has a status — pending, synced, or error — tracked in Sharper.

  • Failed exports are logged and can be reviewed and requeued from the sync log.

Setup

Sage Intacct integration is configured in System Settings → Accounting Integration. Initial setup includes:

  • Selecting Sage Intacct as the accounting system type.

  • Configuring connection credentials for the Sage API.

  • Mapping Sharper accounts to Sage dimension codes or GL accounts.

Important: Contact your Sharper implementation team to enable or reconfigure the Sage Intacct integration. Incorrect configuration can affect financial reporting.

Monitoring the Sync

  1. Navigate to Accounting → Accounting Sync.

  2. Review the status of pending and completed journal exports.

  3. For any entries showing an error status, review the error details and requeue if appropriate.

Best Practices

  • Use Sharper as the source of truth for all AR and operational transactions. Initiate all invoices, payments, and adjustments in Sharper — do not create entries directly in Sage for transactions that should flow from Sharper.

  • Reconcile regularly — Compare Sharper's general ledger to your Sage account balances to catch discrepancies early.

  • Document manual adjustments — Any corrections made directly in Sage that do not originate from Sharper should be documented with dates and reasons.
