Extra charges (also called surcharges) are additional fees automatically added to reservations or orders based on the product involved. They are configured at the product or category level and flow into billing for any reservation using those products.
Extra charges are different from Statement Charges.
Extra charges are tied to products and flow through the reservation invoice automatically.
Statement Charges are posted directly to a customer's account balance outside of a reservation.
What Are Extra Charges?
Fees applied in addition to the base price of a product. Common uses include:
Fuel surcharges
Environmental fees
Administrative processing fees
Seasonal surcharges

Adding an Extra Charge to a Product
Navigate to the product in its module setup.

Locate the Extra Charges section.
Select Add and configure the charge fields:
Field | Description |
Name | Descriptive label (e.g., "Fuel Surcharge") |
Type | The charge type (flat fee, percentage, etc.) |
Amount | The charge amount |
Date Exclusions | Specific dates on which this charge should not apply |
Select Save.
Extra Charges on Reservations
Extra charges configured at the product level are automatically included when a reservation is created using that product — they appear as additional line items on the invoice. You can also add or remove extra charges on an individual reservation by opening the reservation form and editing the Extra Charges section.
Date Exclusions
Date exclusions suppress an extra charge on specific dates — useful for promotional periods, holidays, or special events where the surcharge should be waived. Add each exclusion date when configuring the extra charge on the product.
