How-to Send a Deposit Payment Link

How to email a customer a secure, no-login-required link to pay an outstanding reservation deposit, individually or in bulk.

Written by Andy Hornbeak

If a reservation has a deposit balance still owed, you can email the customer a secure payment link instead of collecting the deposit in person or over the phone. The customer clicks the link, pays the deposit, and needs no Sharper login or account — the link is valid for 90 days from when it's sent.

This requires the Deposit Pay Url setting to be configured under Company Settings → Templates. If a customer says a deposit email never arrived, check this setting first — if it's blank, the email fails to send with no error shown to staff.

Sending From a Single Reservation

  1. Open the reservation.

  2. If a deposit balance remains, an Email Deposit Pay option is available on the reservation.

  3. Select it to send the customer their payment link.

Sending in Bulk

To send deposit payment links to multiple customers at once:

  1. Go to the reservation list for your module (Marina → Reservations, Campground → Reservations, or Bookings → Reservations).

  2. Select the checkboxes next to the reservations with an outstanding deposit.

  3. Choose Send Deposit Pay Email from the available bulk actions.

What This Is Not

The Pay Deposit button in a reservation's Deposit Details panel is a separate action — it opens a payment window for staff to key in a card or take payment in person or over the phone. It does not send anything to the customer and has no connection to the link described in this article.

The deposit payment link itself cannot be viewed or copied by staff — Email Deposit Pay and Send Deposit Pay Email only send it directly to the customer's email on file.
