Updated this week

Use PAX Device in Conjunction with Sharper POS Register on Computer
These steps will allow your PAX device to accept card payments (tap, insert, or swipe) through the SharperMMS POS Register on a computer or tablet.

Note: The same setup is required for any device you want to connect to the register.

Step 1: Enable Device Payments

On your computer or tablet in SharperMMS:

  1. Go to System Settings > Payment Methods

  2. Enable Device Payment Methods

    • This setting is disabled by default

    • This setting must be enabled to allow device payments as well as to allow refunds for payments processed via the device.

Step 2: Add Your PAX Device

  1. Go to Company Settings > Payment Device

  2. Click Add New

  3. Select Payment Processor: Payroc

Enter the following details:

  • API Key → Provided by Sharper Support

  • Terminal → Provided by Sharper Support

  • Device ID → Enter the serial number from the back of the PAX device

Step 3: Assign Device to POS Register

  1. Navigate to POS > Register

  2. Open your register settings

  3. Under Payment Methods, select the PAX device you want to use

    • You can assign multiple registers to a single device if needed

Before Processing Payments (Important)

  • Ensure the Payroc app is open and connected on the device

  • If the Payroc app is not open or connected, payments may fail

You’re All Set!

Once configured, your PAX device will be ready to take card payments through the POS register.

⚠️ Using a PAX A920 Pro (On-Device POS)

If you are using a PAX A920 Pro to run Sharper directly on the device (dockside/tableside use), additional setup is required.
