Template - Customer Portal Invite Email (Copy & Paste)

This ready-to-use email template invites a new or returning customer to set up their Customer Portal login and add a payment method — the single biggest step in getting invoices paid online instead of chased down by staff. It uses the same clean, modern layout as the Invoice Email template, so every email a customer gets from you looks and feels like one consistent system, and it includes a built-in nudge toward AutoPay so account setup and payment collection happen in a single email instead of two. It's built for pasting straight into Sharper's Raw HTML template editor.

Test before you send this to customers. Sharper saves template edits immediately with no staging or preview mode, and there is no built-in "send test" button. After pasting the HTML below, send yourself a real copy first — see Testing Your Template in System Settings - Templates — and confirm every variable resolved and every link works before selecting a customer list.

Adding the Template to Sharper

  1. Go to System Settings → Templates.

  2. Click Add New.

  3. Name it something you'll recognize, such as "Customer Portal Invite".

  4. Set Type to Customer Marketing Email, fill in Email Subject and Email From.

  5. Switch the editor to Raw Editor mode.

  6. Copy the HTML block below in full and paste it into the editor.

  7. Click Save.

Note: Once a template's content is built in the Raw Editor, keep editing it there. Switching to Content Editor afterward can strip or simplify the HTML — see System Settings - Templates - HTML Authoring Guide.

Sending the Template

This template is a Customer Marketing Email type, so it's selected manually each time rather than sent automatically:

  1. Navigate to CRM → Customers.

  2. Select Marketing Email near the top right.

  3. Select the Customer Portal Invite template you just saved.

  4. Select an individual customer, or select a Customer List Report to send it to everyone on that report.
