How-To Edit an Email Template in Sharper

Step-by-step guide to opening, editing, and testing email templates in System Settings.

Email templates control the subject line, from address, and body of all automated emails Sharper sends to customers — invoices, confirmations, ACH enrollments, and more. Editing a template updates it globally for all future sends of that type.

Edits apply immediately on save. There is no staging or preview mode. Test changes by triggering the email manually after saving.

Opening a Template

  1. Navigate to System Settings → Templates.

  2. Locate the template by name — templates are grouped by type. Use the search or scroll to find it.

  3. Click the template name to open the editor.

Editing the Body

The body is an HTML editor. Type directly, paste from a text editor, or use the toolbar controls. To insert dynamic data — customer name, invoice total, reservation dates — use merge variables: placeholder tokens that Sharper replaces with real values at send time. The full list of available merge variables appears in the right panel when a template is open.

Email-Specific Fields

Email-type templates have three additional fields above the body editor:

Email Subject

The subject line recipients see. Merge variables work here too.

Email From

The display name for the sender. Does not change the actual sending email address.

Email BCC

An address that receives a blind copy of every send of this template.

Saving and Testing

  1. Select Save.

  2. To verify the output, trigger the email that uses this template — for example, email an invoice to a test customer — and review how the content renders in the inbox.
